THE BLEATING LION, THE BLEATING HINDUS

A lion cub was left stranded in a jungle and it was taken by a shepherd boy to his village. The lion cub grew among the sheep eating grass and bleating. It ran away and hid whenever the wild animals roared in the jungle. One day a grown up lion took notice of this Debacle. He was pained to see one of its own kinds feeding on grass and bleating like a sheep disgracefully. The lion chased away the sheep as well as the shepherd and took the cub back to its own den. The poor cub helplessly bleated all through and refused to believe that he is not a sheep in spite of the lion’s effort to convince him the fact. The miserably failed lion had a brain wave; he took the cub to the bank of a river to show his own reflection. Seeing his majestic stature in the water, the cub felt a new vigour in its nerve. Meanwhile the lion hunted a rabbit and presented it to the cub. The smell of the raw flesh and blood that was inherent in him made him roar gallantly. A lion is discovered.

Many Hindus who are supposed to roar the Vedic truth are pathetically bleating the lesser truth. They are taught to believe that they are sinners, slaves, weak and at the mercy of some divine agencies for their own salvation. If we could take these cubs to the pool of VEDIC TRUTH, they are sure to roar the Suprem Truth. But we badly need lions like Swami Vivekananda to take them to the pool.
WHAT VEDIC TRUTHS ARE TO BE ROARED

Unfortunately most of the professing Hindus are absolutely ignorant of the fundamentals of their own faith. It is, indeed, difficult for a Hindu to read all his 1200 and odd scriptures plus the Ten Thousand interpretations in a single life. However, all these 12000 books together roar a few simple theories:

• Interconnectedness and inter wovenness of the universe ( Vasudeva Kutumbakam).

• The vedha roars that the soul is birthless and deathless and thus SINLESS by nature.

• God is not created so are the souls. The uncreated souls like God have no permanent abode-heaven or hell.

• As we are accustomed to bleat, it would be difficult for us to roar initially, but acquainted, we would enjoy the Vedic status-“I am God’s Book, I am God consciousness and I am God-Aham Brahmasmi”.
